HOOD, Sacramento County — November 1, 2026. As winter approaches, residents along the Sacramento River should know that Hood is part of Sacramento County’s evacuation Zone 82, alongside Freeport and Franklin.
The Sacramento Ready website lists the zone’s general boundaries from River Road and Interstate 5 to the west, toward Franklin Boulevard and Highway 99 to the east, with other boundaries extending from Cosumnes River Boulevard to New Hope Road.
Which roads are included?
The county identifies major east–west routes including Hood-Franklin Road, Twin Cities Road, Calvine Road, Laguna Boulevard, Kammerer Road and New Hope Road. Major north–south routes include Interstate 5, Highway 99 and Franklin Boulevard.
A map is not an evacuation order
Those corridors are planning references, not a guarantee that each will be passable during flooding, a levee incident, wildfire or major traffic emergency. River roads and low-lying intersections can be especially vulnerable to closures.
Check official public-safety instructions and travel restrictions, prepare an emergency kit, and discuss how household members, pets and people with limited mobility would leave if warned. The county also provides a livestock evacuation map for people caring for animals.
An evacuation warning means there may be danger and people requiring extra time should prepare or leave early; an evacuation order requires leaving immediately. For immediate emergencies call 911. The county’s map alone is not a notice of an active Hood evacuation.
